Pterobras Finds Gas in Poço Verde Offshore Brazil

Petrobras announced gas discovery in the extension well 3-BRSA-1022-SES (3-SES-181), located in the Poço Verde Discovery Evaluation Plan area (concession BM-SEAL-4) in the ultra-deep waters of Sergipe-Alagoas Basin.

It is called Poço Verde 1, and lies 58 km off the coast of Aracaju at a depth of 2,196 meters.

The reservoirs found have good porosity characteristics, confirming project expectations.

The Poço Verde accumulation is being explored as part of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin deep-water development program.

With a 75% stake in BM-SEAL-4, Petrobras is the concession operator, partnered by India-based company ONGC (25%). They are to go ahead with the activities planned for the area.
