Qatar Nakilat Profit Climbs 17 Pct

Nakilat of Qatar, the world’s largest LNG shipper, reported a net profit of 207 million riyals in the three months to March 31, up 17 percent from the same period in 2013.

Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Nakilat said: “The strong results of the company’s earnings clearly reflect the strong growth of Nakilat’s main business activities of transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG), through the expansion of the company’s business activities to include international markets.

He said that Nakilat will continue to pursue any good opportunities to acquire new vessels, and further highlighted the positive impact of the increased level of activities at the shipyard facilities, in achieving Nakilat’s strong financial results.
