Qatar: RasGas Celebrates Qatarization Success

RasGas Company Limited has celebrated a new milestone in its overall Qatarization strategy, with the announcement that more than half of the operators at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) Train 1 and 2 production facilities are now Qatari Nationals.

RasGas’ Qatarisation programme is designed to recruit, train and retain high-quality Qatari staff in permanent positions, in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030. “In Operations in particular we are proud that almost 60 per cent of our employees working at our Train 1 and 2 production facilities are Qataris,” said Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, RasGas Operations Group Manager. “We recognise that people are behind our success, and we’re committed to providing the world-class training they need to fully optimise their skills and potential.”

RasGas strives to provide customised learning opportunities for its employees to enhance their professional development. Al Muhannadi was speaking at the welcoming session for Qatari National Process and Maintenance trainees at RasGas’ new training centre in Ras Laffan. He was joined at the event by other senior managers from Operations and the Employee Development and Welfare group.

Recognising the commitment of the young Qatari Nationals who have chosen to pursue a process and maintenance career in RasGas, Al Muhannadi said: “On behalf of RasGas I would like to welcome on board our latest Qatari recruits and the new generation of Qatari Operations trainees. There are excellent opportunities to progress within RasGas. You are building a foundation for success, with an opportunity to lead the company into the future.”
