Qatar: RasGas’ Looks to the Future

Following Qatar’s historic achievement of 77 million tonnes per annum (Mta) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity, reconfirming the country’s position as the world’s leading producer of LNG with the largest production capacity, RasGas has paid tribute to future of LNG at the Operations National Graduate Forum.

Recently over 60 Operations graduates attended the annual RasGas Operations National Graduate Forum at the Ritz Carlton to hear how they can be part of RasGas’ strategy that fulfills Qatar’s vision to attract, retain and develop a high-performing workforce, and maintain a high quality Qatarisation programme. RasGas offers challenging and rewarding career opportunities for Qatari National engineers and graduates from other disciplines.

Speaking on behalf of RasGas, Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, Operations Group Manager said: “Career opportunities in the company are excellent and the development programme within Operations has continued to improve. Our graduates work within teams with specific responsibilities and objectives assigned to them, and are supported by a capable and experienced workforce that continues to support and provide coaching.”

Al Muhannadi added: “Within Operations, RasGas offers visible opportunities for graduates in both technical and management areas.”

The forum was an opportunity for graduates from across OperationsÂ’ Group to meet and discuss their career development. During the forum Al Muhannadi as well as other senior managers provided the graduates with an insight to what to expect in their chosen disciplines and also shared some of their experiences in work and career progression.

The forum also highlighted the importance of the effective communication between the graduates and their supervisors which enables them to fully utilise their skills and understand the business requirements when applying them to their everyday work objectives as well as to their career development planning.

RasGas’ Qatarisation strategy is aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 that encourages and facilitates comprehensive social and economic development for the progress and prosperity of our people and for generations to come.
