Qatargas has signed an Incident Assistance Agreement with ConocoPhillips in order to further enhance its Response Management System.

Qatargas expects the agreement to improve its technical expertise to effectively respond to an emergency incident.

“The first and foremost goal of Qatargas is to operate safely. However, should an incident occur, Qatargas is prepared to rapidly and effectively respond to bring the incident under control to protect its people, assets, the environment, and the reputation of the company, its shareholders and the State of Qatar,” Qatargas said in the announcement.

“We are pleased to share our emergency response expertise with Qatargas’ highly trained emergency response organization to support and reinforce an effective response in the unlikely event of an incident.”

ConocoPhillips, Qatar Petroleum, and Mitsui & Co. Ltd are the shareholders in the Qatargas 3 joint venture project in the North Field, the Persian Gulf.

Qatargas 3 produces 1.4 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day, delivering LNG and substantial volumes of condensate and LPG.
