Qatari LNG heads for Japan

Qatar, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas producer, shipped an LNG cargo from the Ras Laffan Port to Japan today.

The Al Rayyan LNG tanker, with a capacity of  137,420 cubic meters, is expected to arrive at Chubu Electric’s Chita terminal on November 18, according to shipping data.

The Chita terminal is one of the biggest LNG terminals in Japan. It supplies 60 percent of Chubu Electric’s LNG requirements and 80 percent of Toho Gas’ LNG requirements each year.
