QCLNG: Activists Responsible for Damaging Earthwork

QCLNG Activists Responsible for Damaging Earthwork

Activists are thought to be responsible for damaging earthwork at a pipeline creek crossing near Miles, QGC, a BG Unit and the operator of the QCLNG project said.

The damage is intended to disrupt the Queensland Curtis LNG Project

The activists, believed not to come from the gas fields, are associated with the Greens and Lock the Gate, the company said in a statement.

Overnight, the activists used a high-pressure water spray to damage a small holding dam and removed safety barriers and signs.

They also contaminated creek water with a substance that appears to be detergent.

QGC has reported the matter to police, the company added.
