Rana to support Emas in hook up and installation ops off Libya

Rana, a provider of diving and subsea services to the oil and gas industry worldwide, has been awarded a diving services contract by Emas AMC for the installation and hook up of the new floating, storage and offloading (FSO) vessel Gaza, offshore Libya.

The new FSO Gaza will replace the FSO Sloug at Bouri Field, offshore Libya. The Bouri field is part of Block NC 41, which is located 70 miles (120 km) from the Libyan coastline in the Mediterranean Sea. Water depth at the site is 158 m. The field includes a central processing platform DP4 and satellite platform DP3 in water depths of 170m.

Emas AMC is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the Bouri field’s new offshore facilities.

According to Rana, the diving services will be carried out with the company’s mobile saturation diving system AF01 which will be fitted on board Emas’ MSV Lewek Toucan.

The installation activities are expected to start end March/early April 2016, Rana said.

Italian oil company Eni is the operator of the field with National Oil Corporation of Libya as its partner.
