RBG Clinches North Sea Riser Manufacture Project for Apache North Sea Ltd.

RBG, the leading provider of fabric maintenance and construction support to the global energy industry, has secured a contract worth more than £500,000 for the manufacture of two risers for Apache North Sea Ltd.

The two 130 metre long risers, constructed at RBG’s Invergordon, UK facility, will be used to replace existing risers on Forties Bravo and Forties Charlie. The contract is scheduled for completion at the end of July 2010 and the risers will be deployed onto an installation vessel prior to hook-up.

RBG’s Invergordon team successfully worked with Apache in 2009, manufacturing for the Forties Charlie Spool Replacement project.

RBG has established an impressive riser manufacturing track record, successfully completing more than 500 projects over the past 15 years. The company is ideally positioned to execute such contracts, given its easily accessible deepwater quayside location on the Cromarty Firth service base.

The project will be delivered by RBG’s newly formed Marine & Subsea division, a merger of company’s traditional marine and fabrication units, offering a complete subsea support package, from fabrication to deployment, construction support and maintenance.

Calum Buchanan, RBG’s Marine & Subsea director, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Apache again. To be contracted to a field as established and well-known as Forties speaks volumes for our past work. Our highly skilled team in Invergordon has unrivalled riser manufacturing experience and expertise and I am confident the project will be a great success.”
