RCG Strengthens Its Executive Team

Two high-profile executives from the renewables industry have been appointed by The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) to oversee the firm’s day-to-day business, develop its global growth strategy, and direct short- and long-term planning for the company.

Sebastian Chivers has taken up the role of Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Lee Clarke as Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to RCG, Chivers spent 12 years as a consultant, project leader and director at renewable energy consultancy PMSS. Until recently, Chivers was a Director and Executive Board member, responsible for the North America business. He also served as a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Vision Offshore Taskforce.

Chivers said: “At RCG, we aim to win new business by listening to clients, and putting their needs above everything else, and then providing creative solutions that challenge conventional, out-of-date thinking. We have a clear vision of how to achieve this, and Lee’s experience and recent client’s-eye view from the world’s largest offshore wind development will be essential to us getting there. I am really excited to be working with Lee and the energetic and skilled team at RCG.”

Clarke was previously responsible for leading Forewind Limited – the international consortium of RWE, SSE, Statkraft, and Statoil developing the Dogger Bank offshore wind zone – where he served as General Manager and Project Director. Prior to Forewind, Clarke was a Project Director and Senior Corporate Strategy Manager at RWE, and held senior leadership and management roles at E.ON and TXU Europe.

Clarke said: “RCG is an innovative, forward-thinking firm that is quickly carving out a leading position in renewable energy advisory services. The company has exceptional potential for growth into new regions and markets, and I look forward to working with Seb and the team at RCG to turn vision into reality.”
