Repsol to Drill PL 541 Well with Mærsk Giant, Norway

Repsol Exploration Norge AS (Repsol) has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 4/4-1 in production licence 541 in the southern part of the North Sea using the Mærsk Giant mobile drilling rig.

Water depth at the site is approx. 62 metres.

Mærsk Giant is a jack-up mobile drilling rig owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group.

It was built in Japan by Hitachi and completed in 1986. Mærsk Giant can operate in water depths of up to 107 metres and accommodates 87 people.

The rig received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in February 2002.
