RES supplies wetland offsets for Sabine Pass LNG export facility

RES, an ecological offset provider, said it has been awarded a contract by Cheniere to supply over 800 acres of restored, enhanced and conserved wetlands in the State of Louisiana during all three phases of Sabine Pass liquefaction project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Cheniere Energy is now in the process of constructing their Sabine Pass LNG export facility, the first approved LNG export facility in the continental United States, RES said in a statement.

This project required permit approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and numerous other federal and state regulatory agencies. Key to the project’s permits is compensatory wetland mitigation, required to offset unavoidable fill to waters of the United States, in each phase of permitting.

RES was awarded the supply of wetland offsets in each phase independently. RES aided the Sabine Pass liquefaction project throughout the permitting process via supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting process to substantiate proposed mitigation solutions.
