Rickmers Christens New Vessel at Mumbai Port India

The naming ceremony of M. V. Rickmers Tianjin will take place today at Mumbai Port’s Indira Docks.

Built at a Chinese shipyard and deployed on the Europe-ME/India service, this vessel will mark the company’s improvement of its Indian service.

Her sister vessel, the Rickmers Yokohama, reached Mumbai on its maiden call in September last year, loaded with 5,600 freight tons of project cargo.

Both the 17,000 DWT vessels are equipped with two 150-tonne cranes and an 80-tonne crane,

Rickmers-Linie also offers the Round-The-World Pearl String service, which calls at Chennai on the East Coast and covers the Far East and Transpacific and sometimes the Arabian Gulf. It connects with the Europe-Middle East/India service in Hamburg/Antwerp. In case of demand, direct sailing from the US to the Middle East/India can be arranged.
