RINA scores Vopak LNG consultancy deal

Italian classification society RINA has been contracted by Vopak to provide engineering and consultancy services in support of the latter’s LNG growth strategy.

The three-year framework covers global onshore facilities, offshore floating technologies and marine structures, RINA said in its statement on Friday.

The company will deliver a variety of services ranging from concept and feasibility studies to engineering for permitting, environmental assessments, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and owner’s services through execution, commissioning and start-up.

The project builds on previous work with Vopak’s LNG team.

The work will be led by global teams and draw expertise from across its multidisciplinary team in engineering disciplines, execution planning and cost estimating, harbours and ports, and permitting and consenting.

RINA added that it has previously worked on a number of LNG projects including Mozambique LNG, Jafrabad LNG in India and the small-scale LNG-to-power supply chain in the Mediterranean Sea and Far East.
