Rocksource Scores Hat-Trick in Norway's 22nd Licensing Round

Rocksource has today annonuced the award of three new licences in the 22nd Licensing Round on the Norwegian Continental Shelf announced today by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The  awards are:

PL 717 Coma

Rocksource is awarded partnership (20 per cent share) in PL 717, located on the western part of the Loppa High, Barents Sea. This licence covers two full blocks: 7321/10 and 7321/11, which are on the same

geological trend as the Skrugard and Havis discoveries. Phase one of the work programme (2 years) includes 3D seismic acquisition and a drill or drop decision. Phase two includes a well. Partners are: ENI (op.), Statoil and Edison.

PL 722 Skaidi

Rocksource is awarded partnership (20 per cent share) in PL 722, located within the Hoop area, Barents Sea. This licence covers two full blocks: 7322/6 and 7323/4. Phase one of the work programme (3 years) includes 3D seismic acquisition, evaluation of the need for additional EM data, and a drill or drop decision. Phase two includes a well. Partners are: GDF Suez (op.), Tullow and North.

PL 535 B (Norvarg)

Rocksource is awarded partnership (7 per cent share) in PL 535 B, located on the Bjarmeland Platform, Barents Sea. This licence covers part of block 7225/2 which includes the Norvarg discovery, where the partners are currently drilling an appraisal well. PL 535 B is an extension of the existing PL 535, and will follow PL 535’s work programme. Partners are: Total (op.), Det norske, North and Valiant.
