GSP Offshore Appoints VP for Latin America

Consistent in approaching the strategic Latin American Oil and Gas market and extending its presence in the region,Romania’s GSP  Offshore has appointed Mike Autrey Vice President for Latin America.

Mike Autrey has considerable management experience, and having worked in Latin America since 1994 as a consultant for drilling contractors with operational, contractual and legal issues qualified him for the position. His expertise will contribute to increased GSP presence in the region as integrated oil and gas services contractor.

He has started his career serving Western for 17 years, working his way up to managerial positions for marine operations as well as shore based operations in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and India. He was involved in shipyard renovation projects in Gabon, Congo, and Nigeria. In 1979, 1986 and 1990 he was involved in new construction at AMFELS shipyard in Brownsville, Texas. Mr. Autrey has also provided technical consultancy in China.Mike Autrey Vice President for Latin America.

Furthermore, Autrey’s thorough knowledge of the regional market developed while providing service in Mexico, Eastern Venezuela and throughout South America in the field of geothermal, oil and gas drilling. He worked for the last turnkey Tixan – 1 well drilled by Transocean in Mexico. His expertise covers the entire range of offshore drilling installations, from jack-ups to semi-submersible and drillships. In Mexico, Mr. Autrey managed TODCO operations and contracts of three rigs working for PEMEX, being responsible for operations, personnel, logistics, purchasing, bid packages and shipyard projects and, after that, for Larsen Oil and Gas.

GSP already operates two MODUs in the Gulf of Mexico under long term contracts with PEMEX, GSP Atlas and GSP Orizont. Mr. Autrey’s appointment will contribute to boosting GSP’s presence as a key contractor in Latin America for the entire set of services the company is qualified to provide.

Autrey holds a BS degree in Industrial Management with minor in electrical/electronic engineering technology from Northwestern University. He resides permanently in Mexico.
