Royal HaskoningDHV Recognized for HF 4 Project

Along with project partners, Royal HaskoningDHV has received international recognition for its contribution to the Mojo Maritime High-Flow Installation Vessel HF 4 project at the 5th International Tidal Energy Awards in London.

The awards, organised by Tidal Today (UK), celebrate excellence and outstanding achievements in the tidal sector over the past year. The HF 4 project won the award for Best Example of Industry Collaboration.

British marine renewable energy specialists Mojo Maritime asked Royal HaskoningDHV to carry out an Environmental appraisal report on HF 4.

The innovative catamaran-type vessel is being constructed to perform a wide range of offshore construction roles, such as installation of offshore wind turbines, cable laying and trenching, and seabed oil and gas interventions with the ability to operate in extremely challenging tidal/current flows.

Alistair Davison, Renewable Energy Sector Director for Royal HaskoningDHV, said: “We have really enjoyed being part of the consortium for the Mojo Maritime HF 4 project, and are delighted that our joint efforts have been rewarded and recognised in this way. HF 4 is pioneering project, and we look forward to see the vessel built and operating.”

As part of the project, Royal HaskoningDHV completed an assessment of the environmental benefits of the vessel – reviewing the vessel’s performance, including impacts on marine mammals, fish and benthic ecology, among others.

Other companies involved in the collaboration are Bauer Renewables, Voith Hydro, DNV, University of Exeter and GE.
