First String of Bovanenkovo-Ukhta Linepipe Welded Up

The Gazprom Management Committee took notice of the information about the status of the Bovanenkovo field pre-development on the Yamal Peninsula as well as the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system (GTS) construction.

By now, 131 pre-development facilities have been put onstream at the Bovanenkovo field including the utility, power supply, transportation infrastructure and industrial bases. It is projected to commission another 83 pre-development facilities before the end of 2012. Drilling of production wells is underway – the total of 261 wells have been drilled, downhole equipment has been placed into 213 wells.

Welding and installation operations have been finished at the first string of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta GTS linepipe stretching for some 1,240 kilometers. At the moment, pneumatic testing of the gas pipeline is in progress; the tested sections are being dehydrated and filled with nitrogen.

The Baidaratskaya main compressor station is being prepared for gas supplies.

Construction work goes on at eight compressor stations: Yarynskaya, Gagaratskaya, Vorkutinskaya, Usinskaya, Intinskaya, Syninskaya, Chikshinskaya and Maloperanskaya. It is projected to commission these compressor stations between 2012 and 2013.

It was highlighted that gas production from the Bovanenkovo field would start in June 2012.
