Gazflot to Take Delivery of Arkticheskaya Jack-up Rig in December

A recently built Arkticheskaya jack-up rig was last night moored at the Murmansk port berth #35. The rig was built by Zvezdochka Shipyard, and a certificate of acceptance was signed on November 9. in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

Gazprom’s fully owned subsidiary, Gazflot is expected to take delivery of Arkticheskaya rig in December. The drilling facility will be used for Arctic Shelf development.

The Arkticheskaya jack-up floating drilling rig is intended for exploratory and production drilling of oil and gas wells with the depth reaching 6,500 meters in some 100-meter-deep seawater. The rig is projected to be operated, inter alia, offshore the Yamal Peninsula, in the Ob and Taz Bays and the Sea of Okhotsk.

Gazflot is JST Gazprom 100 % owned subsidiary established in 1994 and aimed to perform single policy in geological exploration and the Russian Federation continental shelf gas and oil field development.
