Lotos Shipyard Lays Sections of LSP-1

Recently, Lotos shipyard laid sections of the supporting blocks of ice-protected fixed platform (LSP-1) – one of the basic infrastructure objects of Filanovsky oilfield, developed by “LUKOIL” in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

The contract between JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation” / USC / and JSC NK “LUKOIL”, that was signed on November 9, 2011 in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, includes the development of technical documentation and construction of the LSP-1. The support base of the platform will be at Lotos shipyard, and the topside – at Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association, part of Caspian Energy Group (over 50 percent of its shares are controlled by USC). The total contract value is about 14 billion rubles.

The solemn ceremony was attended by Governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin, President of “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov and President of JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation” Roman Trotsenko.

Transfer of state-owned block of shares of JSC “Shipbuilding Yard” Lotos” to the USC (previously 44% of shares were owned by Russian Federal Property Management Agency) and effective anti-crisis program implemented by the shareholders had a positive impact on production, financial and economic performance of the yard. Today the portfolio of orders of Lotos Shipyard is about 2.5 billion rubles.

Oil and gas deposits to named after V.Filanovskiy is discovered in 2005 and located in the northern sector of the Caspian Sea, 220 km from Astrakhan. Recoverable oil reserves C1 + C2 – 153.1 million tons, gas reserves C1 + C2 – 32,2 billion m3. First oil production is planned for 2015.
