Okskaya Shipyard Delivers 5.540 DWT Vessel Kapitan Yurov

Okskaya Shipyard on Nov 18th delivered 5,540 DWT vessel Kapitan Yurov, eight vessel in a series of 10 Volgamax dry cargo carriers of RSD44 project, Marine Engineering Bureau reported.

The shipyard held keel laying ceremony for this vessel on Oct 14th 2011.

The purpose of these Volgamax dry cargo vessels, designed by MEB, is to carry the general and bulk cargoes, including TEU and FEU up to 9’6” height in holds, steel, scrap, grain, timber, logs and carving woods, potash and mineral fertilizer, niter, sulphur, coal, building materials, paper, large-dimension cargoes.

Predecessors of “Volga-Don” vessels will be replaced by the vessels of RSD44 project. New vessels have bigger capacity, they are more environmental friendly, more efficient and comfortable.
