Saipem Names New Chief Financial and Compliance Officer

The Board of Saipem has approved the creation of the new senior management position of Chief Financial and Compliance Officer, bringing together oversight of the Finance, Legal & Compliance and ICT duties in order to strengthen the Company’s management structure and reiterate its current strategic focus on compliance and internal controls.

Alberto Chiarini has been appointed Chief Financial and Compliance Officer. Alberto Chiarini joined Saipem on October 1st as Assistant to the CEO with the responsibility of overseeing the Governance, Compliance strengthening of the Internal Control System and Risk Management initiatives. He has worked closely over the past months with CFO Stefano Goberti.

Prior to joining Saipem, Alberto Chiarini held a number of senior finance and management positions within Eni during 24 years of service, most recently as CEO of Syndial, Eni’s subsidiary in the petrochemical industry.

Stefano Goberti has decided, for personal reasons, to step down as CFO of and will be taking up a new position within Eni.

I really want to thank Stefano for his significant contribution to Saipem: I have enormously valued his personal support, his outstanding judgment and the excellent work he has done at Saipem over the past year.”

The Board of Directors and the Board of Statutory Auditors have also appointed Alberto as the manager in charge of the preparation of the Company’s accounting documents, pursuant to article 154-bis of Law Decree n. 58/1998, with effect from October 9th 2013.
