Samsung Receives Drillship Order

South Korea’s shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries has received an order to build a drillship for a European client.
The value of the order is estimated at USD511 million. The drillship is expected to be delivered in August 2015.
The shipbuilder did not disclose the name of the client in its filing to the Korea Stock Exchange, but some sources claim the order has been placed by the UK-based drilling contractor Ensco.

Ensco did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment, sent by Offshore Energy Today.
