Samsung to build two drillships for $1.3B

Samsung Heavy Industries has received an order to construct two drillships.

The South Korean shipbuilder received the order from an undisclosed customer yesterday, according to a filing to the Korea Exchange.

The drillships are expected to be delivered by mid-2017. The value of the contract is estimated at $1.27 billion.

As said earlier, Samsung did not reveal the name of the client, but only said it was a large-scale company from the Oceania region.
