Scana to Supply Riser Components for Norwegian Platform

Sweden’s Scana Industrier ASA has through its subsidiary Scana Subsea, been awarded a contract to deliver finished machined riser forgings.

The value of the contract is approx. 83 mill. SEK. (USD 11.95 million)  The high Pressure Production Risers are intended for a Tension Leg Platform (TLP) on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The scope includes forging and machining of production riser joints and additional components. The contract positions Scana for potential additional deliveries for the project, as well as upcoming pursuits elsewhere in the world.

Manufacturing is planned to start during 4(th) quarter 2012 and deliveries will commence from 4(th) quarter 2013 to 3(rd) quarter 2014.

This order confirms Scana’s strong position as a supplier of high quality riser components. The order is important to us, and especially important in a situation where other market segments are seriously affected by the European recession. We believe in further riser material orders in near future, which is important for Scanas profitability. The new deliveries to the North Sea will involve several Scana companies, in addition to Scana Subsea,” CEO of Scana Industrier ASA, Rolf Roverud, says.
