Scorpio Bulkers Finds Work for Eleven Ships

Monaco-based dry bulk shipping company Scorpio Bulkers has inked time charter-out agreements with undisclosed companies for seven Ultramax and four Kamsarmax vessels.

The Ultramaxes in question are SBI Jaguar, SBI Ursa, SBI Tango, SBI Cougar, SBI Echo, SBI Thalia and SBI Lyra.

The ships will be chartered at gross charter rates from USD 14,500 to USD 16,500 per day, with the earliest redelivery dates from February to June 2019.

What is more, Scorpio has found work for the following Kamsarmaxes – SBI Bolero, SBI Macarena, SBI Mazurka and SBI Samba.

The company agreed rates ranging from USD 14,500 to USD 16,000 per day for the time charter periods. As informed, the earliest redelivery dates for the abovementioned ships are between February and May 2019.

Yesterday, the company said it signed letters of intent to buy and install scrubbers on substantially all of its owned and finance leased Kamsarmax and Ultramax vessels from the second quarter of 2019 until the third quarter of 2020.

Scorpio Bulkers has an operating fleet of 57 vessels consisting of 56 wholly-owned or finance leased drybulk vessels, and one time chartered-in Ultramax vessel. The company’s owned and finance leased fleet has a total carrying capacity of approximately 3.9 million dwt and all of the company’s owned vessels have carrying capacities of more than 60,000 dwt.
