    German shipbuilders’ association VSM’s Managing Director Werner Lundt has accused Asian rivals of price dumping at the association’s annual general meeting in Hamburg. Asian suppliers are now targeting markets seen as the core business of German shipyards, and Lundt claims they are trying to corner the few orders for special-purpose vessels by offering dumping prices.

    Port Saint. A Greek freight ship has collided into a shipyard at Port Saint, northeastern Egypt, near the Suez Canal, online edition of Greek newspaper Naftemporiki reads today. According to the port authorities the collision caused substantial damage to the front part of the ship.

    On July 6th 2007, Transas signed a contract with the Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard (MNP Group) to supply navigational equipment for the RST22 tanker series. Turkish shipping company Palmali Shipping is the project’s customer. Several Palmali Shipping vessels have already been equipped with Transas systems.
