Second LNG terminal for Pakistan

Pakistan is going to get another LNG terminal beside the one currently being built by Engro‘s unit Elengy Terminal Pakistan at Port Qasim.


The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Thursday approved the Gawadar-Nawabshah LNG terminal and pipeline, a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance said.

According to the statement, Interstate Gas Systems (ISGS) will be authorized to execute the implementation of the LNG project. The terminal will have the capacity to handle up to 500 mmcfd of gas

The Finance Minister, while approving the Project, in principle advised the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources to finalize the funding plan preferably on Government to Government basis or BOT/BOO basis,” the statement added.
