Second Race Bank OSS Ready to Go

The topside and jacket of the second substation for the Race Bank offshore wind farm have been loaded onto a pontoon in Hoboken, Belgium, according to Seacontractors’ latest social media post.

Seaway Heavy Lifting installed the first substation at the offshore wind farm site in the UK in August 2016.

Iemants and Engie Fabricom have been in charge of delivering both offshore substations for the project which is under construction and is planned to be completed in 2018.

The 580MW offshore wind farm, which will consist of 91 Siemens 6MW turbines, is located off the North Norfolk coast and is being built out of DONG Energy’s construction base in the Grimsby Fish Docks.
