Senex, GLNG ink gas sales deal

Senex Energy and the Santos-operated US$18.5 billion GLNG project have recently entered into a series of agreements for the development of the Western Surat gas project in Queensland.

Under the agreements, the Brisbane-based gas explorer will receive $42 million in cash, plus a comprehensive suite of technical data that will accelerate the FID on the Western Surat gas project.

This is in exchange for the sale of the Maisey block within ATP 889 to GLNG, which sits adjacent to GLNG’s Roma fields.

Under a binding 20-year gas sales agreement, Senex will also supply up to 50 TJ/day of gas from its Western Surat gas project to GLNG, which will be processed at the LNG plant on Curtis Island.

Completion of the transactions is expected by the end of this year.
