Senex, Santos GLNG conclude two deals

Australian energy company, Senex on Wednesday completed the A$42 million sale of the Maisey block in the Western Surat gas project to Santos GLNG. 

The two companies also signed a gas sales agreement under which Senex will provide up to 50 TJ/day to GLNG from its Western Surat gas project for a period of 20 years, according to Brisbane-based company’s statement.

Besides the A$42 million Senex received in cash, it has also obtained a suite of subsurface, production and other technical data in exchange for the Maisey block.

Ian Davies, Senex managing director said the gas and sales agreement with GLNG allows the company to further develop the project and ramp up volumes.

Together, the two agreements de-risk de advancement of the project and enable access to GLNG infrastructure and subsurface data.
