Shell: oil pipeline leak cuts gas supplies to NLNG

Shell informed of a reduction of gas supplies to Nigeria LNG export facility as a major oil pipeline was shut due to a leak and theft.

This reduction could impact liquefied natural gas exports from the plant on Bonny Island, Reuters reports.

Force majeure on crude oil exports had been declared by Shell Petroleum Development Company, Shell’s Nigerian unit that supplied the gas to Nigeria LNG. Two major pipelines were shut down leading to a decrease in the volumes of gas being fed to the LNG facility.

SPDC said the decrease in gas supplies to Nigeria LNG is a result of the Trans Nigeria Pipeline shutdown.
