Siag Reviews AWEA Windpower Conference 2011 (USA)

SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG, one of the worldwide leading suppliers for tubular steel towers and components for the onshore and offshore wind energy industry, is looking back on a successful trade fair participation in Anaheim/California.

More than 1,000 exhibitors participated in the annual Windpower Conference & Exhibition, organized by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), on a hall space of 27,000 sqm.

Thousands of experts of the wind energy industry again used the biggest exhibition of the wind energy industry worldwide as a platform to meet the most important representatives and decision-makers of the sector as well as politics and economy.

“The exhibition clearly demonstrated that the wind energy industry looks forward to an upswing after a weak year in 2010. The atmosphere among the visitors has been thoroughly positive. Nevertheless some visitors remarked that a stable basis is needed for the economic upturn meaning consistent and supporting regulations have to be created. This is the only way to achieve growth rates like in the year 2009 and furthermore“, resumes Rüdiger Schaaf, CEO of SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG.

The whole wind energy industry participates in the Windpower Conference even beyond the North American continent – including numerous German companies. The German Pavilion – with the motto „Made in Germany“ – counted a total of 21 companies, including SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG as well as other well-known manufacturers and suppliers.

After a thoroughly positive trade fair participation with very good contacts and meetings, SIAG is optimistically looking forward to the next year – especially the Windpower Conference 2012 taking place from 3rd until 6th June 2012 in Atlanta/Georgia.
