Siem Helix 2 begins work in Brazil

Helix Energy Solutions has informed that the Siem Helix 2 has successfully completed the vessel acceptance process and is on contract offshore Brazil.

The well intervention vessel will be performing well intervention services under a multi-year contract with Petrobras.

Owen Kratz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Helix, stated: “Our team applied the lessons learned from the Siem Helix 1 process to efficiently complete the Siem Helix 2 acceptance and testing.

“With the addition of the Siem Helix 2, the sixth well intervention vessel in our fleet, we continue to strengthen our position in the well intervention market.”

The Siem Helix 2 has a length of 158 meters, a beam of 31 meters, and an accommodation for 150 persons. For various subsea operations, the vessel is equipped with a moonpool, various subsea and offshore cranes, and a skidding system.
