Singapore: Evergreen Line Receives Liner Owner/Operator Award at Seatrade Asia

Global ocean carrier Evergreen Line received the Liner Owner/Operator Award at the Seatrade Asia Awards, a gala event attended by more than 500 maritime executives and industry leaders.

Evergreen Line prevailed out of a field of virtually every major ocean carrier in Asian trades. The award was accepted by Mr. Adam Lee, president of Evergreen Marine (Singapore) PTE LTD., who represented Evergreen Line at the ceremony.

“For more than 40 years, Evergreen Line has endeavored to provide ocean services that make our customers competitive in the world marketplace,” said Mr. Lee. “As Asia is the most dynamic shipping market with high growth potential and strong competition, this award is a good recognition of the service we bring to our customers. We will continue the efforts for service improvement based on the development of market trend and customer demand.”

The rating categories of Liner Owner/Operator Award include service innovation, environmental protection and other criteria. In the aspect of service innovation, Evergreen Line launched “ShipmentLink Mobile”, an application of its e-commerce system to handheld devices. “ShipmentLink Mobile” is available via iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and mobile devices using Android operating system. The service enables customers to search sailing schedules and track the movements of their shipments anywhere on the globe.

In the category of environmental protection, Evergreen Line has made tremendous efforts in its industry-leading commitment to sustainability. Evergreen Line’s environmental philosophy and excellence was featured on the Green Room series of Discovery Channel. The program detailed the global ocean carrier’s proactive green shipbuilding efforts initiated by Evergreen Group Chairman Dr. Yung-Fa Chang to promote the importance of marine environmental protection.

Seatrade started the annual event in 2008 to reward outstanding performance and service innovation, to highlight operating safety and social responsibility as well as to recognize the importance of education and training. The Seatrade Asia Awards include the Liner Owner/Operator Award, the Education and Training Award, the Environment Protection Award, the Safety Award, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, the Technical Innovation Award, the Ship Manager Award, the Container Terminal Operator Award, the Wet/Dry Bulk Operator Award, the Ship Finance Award, the Maritime Law Award, the Shipbuilding Award, the Repair Yard Award, the Classification Award and the Deal of the Year Award.
