Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has secured an ocean bottom node (OBE) contract in the Africa, Mediterranean, and Middle East (AMME) region.

The company’s deepwater crew is expected to mobilize in the fourth quarter of the year for the project that has a duration of approximately 100 days.

“We are very pleased to secure this OBN contract, which extends into 2027. This award from a repeat customer highlights the strength of our integrated business model and broad presence across all segments of the geophysical market,” said Kristian Johansen , CEO of TGS.

“The client values our OBN technology and in combination with our proven track record of successful project execution and timely delivery, is confident in our ability to provide high-quality actionable data and insights that support production optimization.”

A week ago, TGS reported updates from three countries, namely Norway, Ghana and Canada. This came as the Norwegian firm signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Allton for accelerating the deployment of innovative deepwater OBN technology.
