Skangas to fuel Gothia Tanker Alliance’s LNG-powered ships

Nordic LNG company Skangas, a unit of Gasum, has agreed to supply Gothia Tanker Alliance to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel.

The new agreement comprises current as well as new vessels with LNG propulsion soon to come, SKangas said in its statement.

Swedish shipping companies, Furetank Rederi, Erik Thun and Rederi Älvtank, have invested in a fleet totaling six LNG-fueled newbuilds. Together with the existing Fure West, all vessels are all jointly operated by the Gothia Tanker Alliance.

LNG fuel deliveries will be made by Skangass in ports, bunkering facilities as well as at sea via its LNG bunkering vessel Coralius.

The ship-to-ship bunkering operations by Coralius may take place at anchorage off Gothenburg in Sweden, off Skaw in Denmark, offshore Norway or in ports during cargo operations, Skangas said in its statement.
