Small Tanker Duo Ordered from Fujian Southeast

Chinese Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding has received a contract to construct two 6,500 dwt small oil tankers for an undisclosed Malaysian shipowner.

The order was placed with an option for two additional oil tankers.

The new vessels feature a length of 109 meters and a width of 17 meters.

The parties did not disclose the value of the contract.

Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding develops, designs and builds multi-purpose offshore working vessels, platform supply vessels, marine rescue ships, subsea support vessels, product oil tankers, and other ship types, including passenger cargo vessels.

According to data provided by VesselsValue, the shipbuilder currently has 44 vessels on order, the majority of which are AHTS and PSVs, scheduled for delivery in 2016 and 2017.
