SMRU Consulting Europe gets new directors

SMRU Consulting Europe has announced the promotion of Carol Sparling to Technical Director, and Cormac Booth to Director of Business Development.

Sparling will be tasked to lead SMRU’s European team. She is the technical lead on numerous projects considering the impact of renewable energy developments on marine mammals, SMRU Consulting’s press release reads.

Cormac Booth will act as deputy Technical Director for Sparling and in his new role Cormac will provide a focus for the Europe team on promoting SMRU’s services and generating new business.

Cormac is the lead scientist and project manager for multiple projects involving investigating the potential impacts of marine renewable energy development on marine mammal species.

He provides specialist advice on Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM), statistical modelling, analysis into EIA’s (noise and marine mammals) and provides advice for mitigation studies relating to impacts on cetaceans.
