SOCAR Commissions Two New Wells at Darwin Bank Field Offshore Azerbaijan

 

Two wells from the platform # 660 have been commissioned recently after completion of drilling works. The daily production of the wells # 652 and # 653 drilled to Girmaki Suite makes 6 tons of oil.

The wells are drilled by Oil Rocks Offshore Drilling Works Office of SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust and commissioned by Absheronneft OGPD. At present, 6 wells are commissioned from the platform No 660 intended for drilling 12 wells.

Darwin Bank is an Azerbaijani bank oil field in the Caspian Sea, 45 kilometres (28 mi) – 50 kilometres (31 mi) north-east of Baku and 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of Pirallahi Island. Industrially significant oil and natural gas resources were discovered here in 1950’s.

Complex Drilling Works Trust executes integrated drilling works based on advanced technologies in offshore and onshore carbohydrogen fields belonged to the SOCAR.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is the state-owned oil and natural gas corporation of Azerbaijan. It is considered to be one of the largest oil companies in the world.It produces oil and natural gas, operates the country’s two oil refineries and the running of oil and gas pipelines through out the country.
