Solstad Farstad delivers anchor handler to new owner

Farstad Supply, a subsidiary of Norway’s newly-formed OSV provider Solstad Farstad, has sold and delivered one of its AHTS vessels to its new owner.

The delivery of the anchor handling tug and supply vessel Far Shogun to the new owner took place on Thursday, July 13.

Now that the delivery has been made, the Far Shogun will be renamed Skandi Bergen.

Solstad Farstad said that the sale of the vessel would result in an immaterial accounting effect for the third quarter of 2017.

To remind, an unnamed Norwegian company bought the vessel in mid-March. After the companies had agreed on the acquisition, Norwegian offshore vessel provider DOF entered into an agreement with the buyer to manage the AHTS.

Apart from entering the management agreement with the new owner, DOF also has an option to buy the vessel at a price corresponding to the outstanding debt or approximately 50-60% of historical build costs.
