Sonardyne's 6G® at Rio Oil & Gas Expo

Sonardyne Brasil will be showcasing its sixth generation (6G®) product range of subsea acoustic positioning, inertial navigation and wireless communication technology at the upcoming Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference 2012.

Held at the Riocentro Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the show runs from 17th-20th September.

Taking place every two years since 1982, Rio Oil & Gas has become the premier oil and gas industry event in Latin America. The exhibition provides an opportunity for national and foreign companies to display products and services to potential customers whilst the technical conference encourages the discussion of issues affecting the industry and the promotion of innovative ideas.

This year’s event coincides with the 20th anniversary of Sonardyne’s subsea acoustic systems first being deployed offshore Brazil. Today, this technology can be found in every deep water field, helping to position vessels, track underwater targets, wirelessly send data and control subsea wells.

Paul Smith, Operations Director at Sonardyne Brasil commented, “Rio Oil & Gas is the key event in Sonardyne Brasil’s calendar. We are located on Stand 11, Pavilion Annex 3-4 and this year we will be presenting the features of our new 6G product range which will bring tangible benefits to operators here in Brazil through more efficient, safer subsea operations. We are also celebrating our recent move to our new offices in Rio das Ostras, built to better service the needs of our customers and their Sonardyne equipment.”
