The 61,000 dwt African Cardinal was delivered on September 26 from Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering in China, which is operated jointly by KHI and China COSCO Shipping.

The newbuild is the second ship in the Cardinal Maritime fleet, according to VesselsValue data. The company also owns the 2019-built MR2 tanker Eternal Sunshine.

Measuring 199 meters in length, the newly-delivered African Cardinal has a hold capacity of 77,539 cbm and incorporates energy saving technologies.

The Panama-flagged bulker features four 30-ton deck cranes along the center in between the hatch covers to enable cargo loading and unloading in ports that lack cargo handling facilities.
