South Hook awaits more Qatari LNG

The UK’s largest LNG terminal, South Hook, located on the shores of the Milford Haven waterway is scheduled to receive a cargo next week.

Shipping data reveals the Q-Max LNG carrier, the 266,000 Rasheeda is expected to dock at the South Hook LNG’s jetty on May 24, only three days after Lijmiliya LNG carrier delivers its cargo.

The vessel was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries and delivered to Nakilat in 2010, the same year the South Hook LNG terminal was fully commissioned.

In October last year, Rasheeda commissioned its new gas burning ME-GI engine.

Qatar Petroleum owns 67.5 percent of South Hook LNG terminal, ExxonMobil has a 24.15 percent stake and Total holds the rest.
