South Korea: Feb LNG Imports Spike

South Korea imported 4.66 million tonnes of LNG in February, up 50% from the same month in 2011 when the country purchased 3.11 million tonnes of LNG, government data showed.

The country’s LNG imports dropped 41% in January to 2.89 million tonnes of LNG, compared to the year before.

South Korea’s KOGAS, the world’s largest corporate buyer of liquefied natural gas, recently said that it plans to import about 36,46 million tonnes of LNG this year.
