STX Pan-Ocean Selects PARAT Boilers for Their New Vessels

Korea based STX Pan-Ocean has selected to use STX-PARAT boilers in all their new vessels currently being built at the STX Shipyard in Changwon, Korea and STX Dalian in China. The vessel type is 57.000 DWT Open Hatch General Cargo Vessel and the boiler capacity is 1200kgs/hr in the oilfired section and 1100kgs/hr in the exhaust gas section. Class will be DNV and KR.

The PARAT MCS composite boiler is cutting edge technology and utilizes pin-tube elements in the oilfired section to reduce weight and size while giving you very efficient overall capacity.

The boilers will be manufactured and tested at the SeAH factory in Ulsan, Korea. SeAH is one of the PARAT license partners and just recently the first MCS left the factory for installation on board another vessel in construction at STX Shipyard in Changwon.

Superior workmanship, top focus on quality and full dedication to the customer are some of the main reasons why we chose SeAH to be one of our licence partners” says Mr. Yngve Halvorsen, CEO of Parat Halvorsen in Norway. “We are very happy to receive this order and sincerely grateful to STX Shipyard and STX Pan-Ocean for trusting us to supply them with the best possible boiler technology.”
