Sungdong Shipbuilding and Tsakos Sign Shipbuilding Contract

Greek shipping company Tsakos Group has entered into a shipbuilding contract with Sungdong Shipbuilding from Korea.

According to the Seatrade Asia report, the subject of the contract is construction of a 157,000 dwt shuttle tanker with an option to build another one. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered in 2014.

Sungdong Shipbuilding commenced construction of shuttle tankers alongside with FSOs in 2011 and has gained attention from the global shipbuilding market as the only large-scale shipbuilder that adopted on land shipbuilding as a primary building method.
