South Korea’s LNG imports from Equatorial Guinea rise

LNG imports from Equatorial Guinea into South Korea have gone up during the first two months of 2015.

According to Platts’ unit, Bentek, South Korea received only one cargo the previous year from Equatorial Guinea with only two cargoes the year before.

So far this year, BG Group delivered four cargoes from EG LNG to South Korea’s Kogas. Cargoes were delivered aboard Methane Lydon Volney, Golar Grand and Methane Nile Eagle LNG carriers to Incheon terminal while Maran Gas Efesos delivered its load to the Pyeongtaek LNG terminal.

There was another cargo delivered by BG Group to Kogas from Nigeria’s LNG terminal and traders believed BG possibly delivered the cargoes on behalf of one of Kogas’ long-term suppliers. These suggestions could not be confirmed.
