Spain: ENERMAR Organises Workshop "The Ocean and the Renewable Energies" ENERMAR, the Working Group of Ocean Renewable Energies supported by the Spanish College and Association of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, organizes the third edition of its Technical Sessions ¨The Ocean and the Renewable Energies. The contribution of the Naval and Oceanic Engineering¨ at Barcelona (Spain), on September the 13th and 14th.

The ocean renewable energies sector which includes not only the offshore wind energy but also the other ocean energy sources as ocean waves, tides, ocean thermal, etc, spite the current challenging economic climates is now established in Europe and is showing important signs of growth in Asia and USA based on the existing strong industrial base and the relevant support from the Governments all over the world which have the strong commitment to increase the low carbon technologies and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. Spain, a country with a huge maritime history and a powerful naval industry and technology, cannot permit to be out of this essential process.

Those sessions have been created specially to plug the gaps in the technical and technological of the Naval and Oceanic Engineering knowledge, providing practical answers by Developers, Utilities, and Marine Industries and Technological Centres as Academia and Universities, Shipyards, Classification Societies, etc which will participate in this event, and build those relationships the naval industry need to do business with in this renewable energy market. Moreover, gathering at this forum the main stakeholders involved in this business is an opportunity for exchanging ideas and benchmarking which will result in benefits for everybody.

The Sessions are organized according to the adjacent program, in conferences and round tables. The participants are relevant experts from the Spanish and Local Governments, the Industry, the Technology and the Knowledge.
