Statoil gets approval for subsea ops at Gullfaks Sør

Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has given consent to Statoil to use pipelines and subsea production facilities at Gullfaks Sør in the northern North Sea.

Statoil is the operator at Gullfaks Sør, in the Tampen area in the northern North Sea, south of the Gullfaks field.

Gullfaks Sør has been developed using subsea templates tied back to the Gullfaks A and C facilities by underwater pipelines. Production began in 1998.

The PSA has now granted consent to use pipelines and subsea production in accordance with Statoil’s application.
